Non-Degree Seeking Student Status
The Non-Degree Seeking student status has been established for those individuals
who, while not intending to earn a degree, would like to take University courses.
Non-Degree Seeking registration is based on space availability. Students planning
to register Non-Degree Seeking for the first time must obtain permission from the
MPA director.
Students not yet admitted to the MPA Program may take up to 12 credit hours of graduate
PAD coursework Non-Degree Seeking. Once admitted, with approval of the MPA director,
12 credit hours of non-degree seeking coursework will be accepted towards the degree.
Important Information for Non-Degree-Seeking Students:
In accordance with USF Graduate School Policy, students may take a maximum of 12
credit hours Non-Degree Seeking. Those who are nearing completion of the 12 credit
hour limit must apply to the MPA Program prior to registering for excess hours.
Students who have completed more than 12 credit hours without being admitted into
the Program must, upon acceptance to the Program, complete a Graduate School Petition
(http://www.grad.usf.edu/forms/)
to which an explanation addressing the reason(s) excess credit hours were taken
must be attached. All such petitions are reviewed by the Graduate School Dean, and
a positive outcome is not guaranteed.
