Course location/delivery: This graduate certificate curriculum
is offered at the Tampa campus.
Brief description: The graduate certificate in Public Management
will benefit those who currently hold positions in governmental management as well
as those who administer governmental contracts and programs. This course of study
develops competencies required for effective public management.
Credit toward graduate degree: Up to 12 credit hours of certificate
related courses may be applied toward the MPA degree.
Transfer credit: Non-degree seeking students and transfer students
may apply one course to a graduate certificate with department approval.
Standardized tests: Standardized tests are not required for admission
to this certificate. However, should a graduate certificate student subsequently
apply to the master's degree program in Public Management, the GRE is required.
Admission requirements: Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree
from a regionally accredited university.

- Submit official transcripts of previous academic degrees earned.
- Submit a 250-word statement describing relevant work experience and how career objectives
would be advanced by earning a graduate certificate in Public Management.
- Submit a current resume
- Submit three letters of recommendation
Registration process: First, consult with the certificate program
advisor and obtain an electronic course permit if necessary. Then go to
http://usfonline.admin.usf.edu/, the link to OASIS, USF's on-line registration
system. Follow directions given on-line.
