On behalf of the faculty and staff of the Department of Government and International
Affairs, I welcome you to this website, which is designed to provide you with the
basic information about our Department.
I am pleased and very excited to announce the inauguration of a new Ph.D. program
in Government, effective Fall 2009. This is a milestone achievement for our Department.
For all interested students, please click the link for our Ph.D. Program (on the
left-hand menu) to learn about the nature of our innovative program, as well as
admissions requirements.
We have admitted five young, enthusiastic and highly qualified students to our new Ph.D. program.
Please join me to welcome them: Samar Hennawi, Lizette Howard, Joanna Rozpedowski, Monica Smalley, and Patricia Weeks.
We also offer two masters degrees in Political Science and Public Administration,
and two bachelors degrees in International Studies and Political Science. In addition,
we offer a variety of undergraduate and graduate certificates. Our Department provides
students with the opportunity to study and learn about the nature of politics and
administration at the local, national and international levels.
The faculty in our Department is truly diverse, with an outstanding record of teaching
and a prolific record of scholarly publications. They have been awarded numerous
teaching awards, and have established national and international reputations in
a variety of fields in Political Science, International Studies and Public Administration.
